The Sankofa Education Series II
The Sankofa Education Series II is an educational program of the Association of African American Cultural Gardens whose purpose is to encourage education and interest in African American history and culture and to develop and preserve the African American Cultural Gardens. We are committed to educating people of all backgrounds of the unique and rich history of African Americans and facilitating a spirit of friendship and unity among people of all diverse cultures through the new and innovative Sankofa Education Series. This 6 weeks mini series will premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at 7 p.m.
This webcast program includes interesting interviews with leading African American educational,
religious, entrepreneurial, community leaders and change agents including Val B. King,
Ted Ginn Sr., Randall McShepherd, Councilman Basheer Jones and Kamryn Bailey.
Additionally, the new Sankofa Webcast Series II will feature music, spoken word and artistic
presentations by local and national artists of all ages. The series is hosted by Rachel L. Hill.
Episode 1
Meet Val. B King
This episode of the Sankofa Education Series features an interview with Val B. King.
Val B. King, the granddaughter of blues legend B.B. King, has a clear, smooth sound
that is influenced by gospel music, blues, jazz, neo-soul, soul and R&B. Her 2016
debut album, “Life, Love, Music,” (Jofula Global Media)
was inspired by her late grandfather. She performs "Lift Every Voice and Sing"
in this episode.

The Sankofa Education Series
The Sankofa Education series is an educational program of the Association of African American Cultural Gardens

of Alumni Relations for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Rhonda Crowder,
